וחוי אחאב לאיזבל ית כל די עבד אליהו וית כל דקטל ית כל נביי שקרא בחרבא:
bkhrba shqra nbyy kl yth dqTl kl wyth alyhw ebd dy kl yth layzbl akhab wkhwy
Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and how he had killed all the prophets with the sword.

ושלחת איזבל אזגדא לות אליהו למימר כדין יעבדון דחלתאי וכדין יוספון אלהין כעדנא הדין מחר אשוי ית נפשך כנפשא דחד מנהון:
mnhwn dkhd knpsha npshk yth ashwy mkhr hdyn kedna alhyn ywspwn wkdyn dkhlthay yebdwn kdyn lmymr alyhw lwth azgda ayzbl wshlkhth
Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I don’t make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time!”

וחזא וקם ואזל לשיזבא נפשיה ואתא לבאר שבע די לשבטא יהודה ושבק ית עולימיה תמן:
thmn ewlymyh yth wshbq yhwdh lshbTa dy shbe lbar watha npshyh lshyzba wazl wqm wkhza
When he saw that, he arose and ran for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongs to Judah, and left his servant there.

והוא הליך במדברא מהלך יומא ואתא ויתב תחות רתמא חד ושאיל ית נפשיה לממת ואמר סגי לי ארכא עד אימתי אנא מטרף כדן כען יי סב נפשי ארי לא טב אנא מאבהתי:
mabhthy ana Tb la ary npshy sb yy ken kdn mTrp ana aymthy ed arka ly sgy wamr lmmth npshyh yth wshayl khd rthma thkhwth wythb watha ywma mhlk bmdbra hlyk whwa
But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree. Then he requested for himself that he might die, and said, “It is enough. Now, O Yahweh, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”

ושכיב ודמוך תחות רתמא חד והא דין מלאכא קריב ביה ואמר ליה קום אכול:
akwl qwm lyh wamr byh qryb mlaka dyn wha khd rthma thkhwth wdmwk wshkyb
He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, an angel touched him, and said to him, “Arise and eat!”

ואסתכי והא אסדוהי חררא מעפפא וצלוחיתא דמיא ואכל ושתי ותב ושכיב:
wshkyb wthb wshthy wakl dmya wtslwkhytha meppa khrra asdwhy wha wasthky
He looked, and behold, there was at his head a cake baked on the coals, and a jar of water. He ate and drank, and lay down again.

ותב מלאכא דיי תנינות וקריב ביה ואמר ליה קום אכול ארי סגי מנך אורחא:
awrkha mnk sgy ary akwl qwm lyh wamr byh wqryb thnynwth dyy mlaka wthb
Yahweh’s angel came again the second time, and touched him, and said, “Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.”

וקם ואכל ושתי ואזל בחילא דאכילתא ההיא ארבעין יממין וארבעין לילון עד דאתא לטורא דאתגלי עלוהי יקרא דיי לחורב:
lkhwrb dyy yqra elwhy dathgly lTwra datha ed lylwn warbeyn ymmyn arbeyn hhya dakyltha bkhyla wazl wshthy wakl wqm
He arose, and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, God’s Mountain.

ועל תמן למערתא ובת תמן והא פתגמא דיי עמיה ואמר ליה מה לך כא אליהו:
alyhw ka lk mh lyh wamr emyh dyy pthgma wha thmn wbth lmertha thmn wel
He came to a cave there, and camped there; and behold, Yahweh’s word came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

ואמר קנאה קניתי קדם יי אלהא צבאות ארי שבקו קימך בני ישראל ית מדבחך פגרו וית נבייך קטלו בחרבא ואשתארית אנא בלחודי ובעו ית נפשי למקטלה:
lmqTlh npshy yth wbew blkhwdy ana washtharyth bkhrba qTlw nbyyk wyth pgrw mdbkhk yth yshral bny qymk shbqw ary tsbawth alha yy qdm qnythy qnah wamr
He said, “I have been very jealous for Yahweh, the God of Armies; for the children of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword. I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”

ואמר פוק ותקום בטורא קדם יי והא יי מתגלי וקדמוהי משרית מלאכי רוחא מפרקין טוריא ומתברין כיפיא קדם יי ולא במשרית מלאכי רוחא שכנתא דיי ובתר משרית מלאכי רוחא משרית מלאכי זיעא ולא במשרית מלאכי זיעא שכנתא דיי:
dyy shkntha zyea mlaky bmshryth wla zyea mlaky mshryth rwkha mlaky mshryth wbthr dyy shkntha rwkha mlaky bmshryth wla yy qdm kypya wmthbryn Twrya mprqyn rwkha mlaky mshryth wqdmwhy mthgly yy wha yy qdm bTwra wthqwm pwq wamr
He said, “Go out and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.” Behold, Yahweh passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before Yahweh; but Yahweh was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake; but Yahweh was not in the earthquake.

ובתר משרית מלאכי זיעא אשתא ולא במשרית מלאכי אשתא שכנתא דיי ובתר משרית מלאכי אשתא קל דמשבחין בחשאי:
bkhshay dmshbkhyn ql ashtha mlaky mshryth wbthr dyy shkntha ashtha mlaky bmshryth wla ashtha zyea mlaky mshryth wbthr
After the earthquake a fire passed; but Yahweh was not in the fire. After the fire, there was a still small voice.

והוה כד שמע אליהו וכריך אפוהי בשושיפיה ונפק וקם בתרע מערתא והא עמיה קלא ואמר מה לך כא אליהו:
alyhw ka lk mh wamr qla emyh wha mertha bthre wqm wnpq bshwshypyh apwhy wkryk alyhw shme kd whwh
When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his mantle, went out, and stood in the entrance of the cave. Behold, a voice came to him, and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

ואמר יי ליה אזיל תוב לאורחך למדברא דמשק ותהך ותמשח ית חזאל למהוי מלכא על ארם:
arm el mlka lmhwy khzal yth wthmshkh wthhk dmshq lmdbra lawrkhk thwb azyl lyh yy wamr
Yahweh said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. When you arrive, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria.

וית יהוא בר נמשי תמשח למהוי מלכא על ישראל וית אלישע בר שפט ממישר מחולה תמשח למהוי נביא תחותך:
thkhwthk nbya lmhwy thmshkh mkhwlh mmyshr shpT br alyshe wyth yshral el mlka lmhwy thmshkh nmshy br yhwa wyth
Anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi to be king over Israel; and anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel Meholah to be prophet in your place.

ויהי דישתיזיב מחרבא דחזאל יקטול יהוא ודישתיזיב מחרבא דיהוא יקטול אלישע:
alyshe yqTwl dyhwa mkhrba wdyshthyzyb yhwa yqTwl dkhzal mkhrba dyshthyzyb wyhy
He who escapes from the sword of Hazael, Jehu will kill; and he who escapes from the sword of Jehu, Elisha will kill.

ואשאר בישראל שבעא אלפין כל רכוביא דלא כרעו לבעלא וכל פומא דלא נשק ליה:
lyh nshq dla pwma wkl lbela krew dla rkwbya kl alpyn shbea byshral washar
Yet I reserved seven thousand in Israel, all the knees of which have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth which has not kissed him.”

ואזל מתמן ואשכח ית אלישע בר שפט והוא רדי בתרי עשר פדנין דתורא צמידין קדמוהי והוא בחד מתרי עסרא ועבר אליהו לותיה ורמא שושיפיה עלוהי:
elwhy shwshypyh wrma lwthyh alyhw webr esra mthry bkhd whwa qdmwhy tsmydyn dthwra pdnyn eshr bthry rdy whwa shpT br alyshe yth washkkh mthmn wazl
So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth. Elijah went over to him and put his mantle on him.

ושבק ית תוריא ורהט בתר אליהו ואמר אנשוק כען לאבא ולאמא ואהך בתרך ואמר ליה אזיל תוב ארי מה עבדית לך:
lk ebdyth mh ary thwb azyl lyh wamr bthrk wahk wlama laba ken anshwq wamr alyhw bthr wrhT thwrya yth wshbq
Elisha left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Let me please kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” He said to him, “Go back again; for what have I done to you?”

ותב מבתרוהי ונסיב ית פדן תוריא והדמיה ובמני תוריא בשיל להון בסרא ויהב לעמא ואכלו וקם ואזל בתר אליהו ושמשיה:
wshmshyh alyhw bthr wazl wqm waklw lema wyhb bsra lhwn bshyl thwrya wbmny whdmyh thwrya pdn yth wnsyb mbthrwhy wthb
He returned from following him, and took the yoke of oxen, killed them, and boiled their meat with the oxen’s equipment, and gave to the people; and they ate. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and served him.
